We identify, screen, and compare Chinese suppliers on the ground, so you know whether you are dealing with a real factory before a deposit leaves your bank. If you found a supplier on Alibaba, we help you check whether they can actually make your product, support your order size, and stand behind the quote.
Most small and mid-size buyers face the same problem. They contact ten suppliers, get mostly vague responses, and still cannot tell who is an actual manufacturer, who is a trading company, and who is simply not a good fit. The further you are from China, the harder it is to verify.
Manufacturer, Trading Company, or Middleman?
Screening exists to tell these apart before your money moves. On Alibaba, all three can look identical.
| Supplier Type | Online Signals | Your Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer | Narrow range, technical answers | Possible capacity or export gaps |
| Trading company | Wide range, polished listings | Markup, slower answers |
| Middleman | Vague details, shifting quotes | Extra cost, no accountability |
A trading company may work for some small mixed orders, but our supplier sourcing process is built to prioritize real factory options whenever possible. The point is knowing which one you are talking to, and pricing that knowledge into your decision.
What Supplier Sourcing Covers
Supplier identification: We search across sourcing platforms, industry sources, and our own factory network to identify suppliers that match your product category, price target, and production requirements. We focus on factory candidates with relevant product experience, export experience, and a realistic ability to support your order size.
Supplier screening: We evaluate each candidate based on production capability, whether they are a factory or trading company, minimum order quantity, available certifications or documentation, and communication quality. We filter out weak matches and unresponsive contacts, so you only review suppliers worth considering.
Price and MOQ comparison: We contact shortlisted suppliers, collect pricing and minimum order information, and use local knowledge and supplier comparison to negotiate realistic terms. You receive a clear comparison before deciding who to proceed with.
Sample coordination: We manage sample requests, communicate your specifications to the factory, and follow up on production. We review initial samples, relay revision feedback, and help you decide whether the supplier is worth moving forward with.
Supplier recommendation: We consolidate findings across all shortlisted suppliers and recommend the most suitable option based on product fit, pricing, MOQ, communication quality, sample results, and production risk. You get our assessment, not just a list.
What You Receive
- A shortlist of supplier candidates
- Supplier type, background, and capability notes
- Initial price and MOQ comparison
- Sample coordination and feedback
- Our recommendation on supplier fit and risk
- Clear next-step recommendation for product development, purchase management, and order management
How It Works
- You brief us. Share your product details, target price, required quantity, destination market, and any quality or compliance requirements. Photos, drawings, or competitor product links all help.
- We search and screen. We identify suitable supplier candidates, contact them, and evaluate their capability and responsiveness. You receive a shortlist with our assessment of each.
- We coordinate samples. Once you select a direction, we coordinate sample production and communicate revision feedback. You receive samples or sample feedback, along with our comments on supplier fit, sample quality, and next steps.
- You decide. When you are satisfied with the supplier and sample, we help you move to the next stage: product development, purchase management, order management, or quality inspection.

Why Use Maple Sourcing
We know where to start. We have built our supplier network across multiple product categories since 2012. For many categories, we may already know which supplier types to approach and which to avoid.
We screen on your behalf. We review basic company information, production fit, communication quality, and export experience before presenting shortlisted options to you. You do not have to manage that process remotely.
We help match small first orders with suitable factories. Our China-side communication and supplier relationships can help small buyers get more serious responses from suitable suppliers.
We manage communication on both sides. We handle supplier discussions, pricing exchanges, and sample updates on your behalf, then report the key details clearly. You know what was said, what was agreed, and what happens next.
What Supplier Sourcing Does Not Replace
Supplier sourcing helps identify and compare suitable suppliers. It does not replace supplier verification, a formal factory audit, production monitoring, or pre-shipment inspection. For higher-risk orders, we may recommend additional checks before you release payment or approve production.
FAQ
Q1. Is my product idea protected when you share it with factories?
We share only what a supplier needs to quote and sample, and we can sign a confidentiality agreement with you before work starts. For products with real design value, we recommend keeping key details staged until a supplier is shortlisted.
Q2. How long does supplier sourcing take?
For a standard product with clear requirements, initial supplier sourcing often takes 1 to 5 working days after we receive a complete brief. Sample production and review may take another 1 to 2 weeks, depending on product complexity and supplier response.
Q3. How many suppliers will you present?
We usually present 1 to 3 shortlisted suppliers for your evaluation. You can request more options, but a focused shortlist is usually more useful than a long list of poorly matched candidates.
Q4. Do factories pay you a commission to be recommended?
No. Suppliers do not pay to appear on your shortlist, and we take no commission from the factory. We work for the buyer side only, which is why you see the factory’s real quote.
Q5. Will I see the suppliers’ real names and contact details?
Yes. Every supplier on your shortlist comes with real company information, and you can contact them directly. We do not hide factories behind our own name.
Q6. What if no supplier can hit my target price?
We tell you directly, with the real quotes to show it. You then decide whether to adjust the specification, the quantity, or the target price. An honest no early is cheaper than a bad supplier later.
Q7. Do you visit factories in person during supplier sourcing?
Screening at this stage runs through company checks, supplier communication, and our category knowledge, without a site visit. If your order justifies it, we can add an on-site factory audit before you commit.
Q8. Is supplier sourcing a single service or part of a larger package?
Both. You can use it on its own, or use it as the first step in a broader program that continues into product development, purchase management, order management, and quality inspection.
