How do you know if the supplier you found on Alibaba is actually capable of making your product — before you wire the deposit?
Most small and mid-size buyers face the same problem. They contact ten suppliers, get mostly vague responses, and still cannot tell who is an actual manufacturer, who is a trading company, and who is simply not a good fit. The further you are from China, the harder it is to verify.
Maple Sourcing does this work for you — from the ground in China. We help you identify, compare, and qualify suitable Chinese suppliers before you send a deposit or commit to production.
Supplier identification We search across sourcing platforms, industry directories, and our own network to identify suppliers that match your product category, price target, and production requirements. We focus on suppliers with relevant product experience, export experience, and a realistic ability to support your order size.
Supplier screening We evaluate each candidate based on production capability, supplier type, MOQ, available certifications or documentation, and communication quality. We filter out weak matches and unresponsive contacts, so you only review suppliers worth considering.
Price and MOQ comparison We contact shortlisted suppliers, collect pricing and MOQ information, and use local knowledge and supplier comparison to negotiate realistic terms. You receive a clear comparison before deciding who to proceed with.
Sample coordination We manage sample requests, communicate your specifications to the factory, and follow up on production. We review initial samples, relay revision feedback, and help you decide whether the supplier is worth moving forward with.
Supplier recommendation We consolidate findings across all shortlisted suppliers and recommend the most suitable option based on product fit, pricing, MOQ, communication quality, sample results, and production risk. You get our assessment, not just a list.
First-time importers who need a screened supplier before placing a first significant order.
Amazon FBA sellers who need private label suppliers, sample coordination, packaging awareness, and production-ready sourcing support.
Buyers replacing a poor supplier who are unhappy with current factories and want better options before the next order.
Kickstarter and product founders who need suppliers willing to support early-stage products, sample revisions, and realistic first production volumes.
We know where to start. We have built our supplier network across multiple product categories since 2012. For many categories, we may already know which supplier types to approach and which to avoid.
We screen on your behalf. We review basic company information, production fit, communication quality, and export experience before presenting shortlisted options to you. You do not have to manage that process remotely.
We work with small orders. Our China-side communication and supplier relationships can help small buyers get more serious responses from suitable suppliers.
We manage communication on both sides. We handle supplier discussions, pricing exchanges, and sample updates on your behalf, then report the key details clearly. You know what was said, what was agreed, and what happens next.
Supplier sourcing helps identify and compare suitable suppliers. It does not replace a formal factory audit, formal supplier verification, production monitoring, or pre-shipment inspection. For higher-risk orders, we may recommend additional checks before you release payment or approve production.
1. How long does supplier sourcing take?
For a standard product, supplier sourcing often takes two to four weeks after we receive a complete brief. Sample production and review may take another two to four weeks, depending on product complexity and supplier response.
2. How many suppliers will you identify?
We usually present three to five shortlisted suppliers for your evaluation. You can request more options, but a focused shortlist is usually more useful than a long list of poorly matched options.
3. Can I approve the supplier myself or do I have to use your recommendation?
You make the final decision. We provide our assessment and recommendation, but supplier selection is always your choice. If you already have a specific supplier in mind, Supplier Verification may be the better starting point.
4. What if the sample does not meet my standard?
We coordinate sample revisions when the supplier appears capable of meeting the requirement, and help you decide when to move to another option.
5. Is supplier sourcing a standalone service or part of a larger package?
Both. Supplier sourcing can be commissioned as a standalone service. It can also be the first stage of a broader sourcing program that continues into product development, purchase management, order management, and quality inspection.
Tell us what you want to source, your target quantity, destination market, and any supplier links or reference products you already have. We will review your brief and recommend the most practical sourcing path.
Already have a supplier in mind? Start with Supplier Verification instead — a background and capability check before you send a deposit or place an order.
